HOW TO MAINTAIN DIESEL CAR

For the owners of diesel engine cars, of course, need to perform regular maintenance and routine care compared with gasoline-fueled cars that your car is always primed to use drive. Here are some things you should consider.

1. Heating Diesel Engines
The heating process diesel engine is very important before driving activity each day. Like the other vehicles in general machinery, diesel engines also need to be heated before starting the journey. Besides aiming to reach normal working temperature of the engine, diesel engine warming aims to protect engine components rub against each other.

2. How to Turn off the machine after a Long Trip.
For those of you who have diesel cars that use Turborcharger, it is advisable to wait about 3 minutes before turning off after a long trip so that the engine component life is longer. Therefore, avoid immediately turn off the engine after a long trip.

3. Control the amount of fuel in the In Tank.
The amount of diesel fuel in the tank must be always  in control and do not let diesel fuel tank is nearly empty. Highly recommended to fill the tank when the solar remaining 1/3 of the total capacity of the tank. If the diesel fuel in the tank was nearly empty will cause your car diesel engine faltered even the engine can be stopped suddenly.

4. Replacement Air Filters.
Change your car's air filter every 15,000 km. Replacement can be done faster if air conditions are dusty and polluted.

5. Replacement Fuel Filter.
To keep the fuel quality is good you should regularly perform replacement of fuel filters. Change in accordance with the recommendations listed in the vehicle owner's manual.

6. Maintenance of Water sedimenter
Modern diesel fuel filter is usually also join with water sedimenter. Water sedimentary is a tool to catch the water content in diesel fuel. Periodically check the water content in the water sedimenter. If the fuel gauge on the speedometer lights up, it indicates the water level in the water sedimenter has maximum and should be discarded. How to remove it is by turning the faucet drain cock located below water sedimenter unit.


7. Replacement Engine Oil.
The diesel engine has a high compression ratio, making the diesel engine oil dirty fast. For diesel engines the recommended oil change intervals are every 5,000 km.

8. Maintenance Oil Filter.
It is advisable to replace the oil filter every oil change every three times, (15,000 km), because the condition of the oil that is easy to carry debris to the engine in the form of a material such as sand or dust can cause damage your car's engine.

9. Maintenance Glow Plugs.
For diesel cars difficult switched on, it is advisable to replace the glow plug. To determine the condition of glow plugs is to give current from the battery, if it turns red means good condition.
